Object of the VTech Services
VTech's operations include granting licenses for end users to install e-books, games and related (downloadable) software for use on VTech Hardware Products. Through the VTech Serviceswe inform visitors about the services VTech offers. The VTech Services contains public sections, which are accessible to everyone, and private sections. You can visit the public sections anonymously to find out more about VTech and the electronic products we offer through the VTech Servies. In order to purchase and/or use the downloadable products provided by VTech through the Learning Lodge, Kid Connect, the Website or other VTech Software you need to register. Using your email address and a password of your choice, you may access your account online at any time to add delete or change some of the information retained in your account. The alternative to having a registered account is being a "non-registered user". As a non-registered user, you do not have the benefit of ordering VTech's (downloadable) products via the Internet.
Collected personal information
Where available, certain web-connected VTech Hardware Products are designed to connect to your computer or laptop for synchronisation with the Learning Lodge or other VTech Software.
A parent or guardian must set up an account to access the Learning Lodge and/or certain other VTech Software, and in those circumstances the parent or guardian will be asked to provide certain information about his or her child that will be using the web-connected VTech Hardware Product, such as the child's name, birth date, and gender.
To access certain features of the Learning Lodge (or certain other VTech Software) or connect and synchronise the web-connected VTech Hardware Product, the parent or guardian should log in to his or her account. Therefore the VTech Services are designed to ensure that only the parent or guardian should be able to synchronise, upload, and submit the information from the web-connected VTech Hardware Product.

If you choose to become a registered user of a VTech Service (where it is possible to do so), your personal information will be saved on a server that may be located in the USA or Hong Kong to facilitate your future purchases via the VTech Services or enable us to continue providing the VTech Services to you.
VTech complies with its legal obligations under the Data Protection Act 1998 to put in place appropriate technical and organizational measures to ensure the security of your personal data. If, notwithstanding such compliance by VTech, any of the VTech Services suffer an outage, corruption, attack, virus, interference, hacking, intrusion, data loss, theft or unlawful removal, or any other loss, damage, compromise or impairment, VTech shall not be liable and disclaims all such liability to the fullest extent permitted by law.
VTech does not retain personal data in a form in which the person in question can be identified any longer than required for the objectives for which it is collected and then processed.
Request to access
You have a right to access your personal information. If you are a registered user, you may exercise this right by visiting the "Account Settings" section of the relevant VTech Service you are using. From this link, you can view, update or delete certain of your personal information from our database. Request for removal or correction
Right to object
In addition to your rights to object to the processing of your data for marketing purposes (as explained at section II.4.2 above) you have certain other rights under the Data Protection Act 1998 to object to the processing of your personal data. You can register an objection by using the following email address: firstname.lastname@example.org. VTech will review the request within four weeks following registration of the objection and, if it considers the objection is supported by the Data Protection Act 1998 end the processing immediately.
